It's the dawn of a new decade! The Solo Show starts 2010 with a newly formed Residency Program dedicated to supporting & inspiring emerging artists. With even greater oppportunities & resources to offer, we are on the hunt for the next generation of great artists from around the world! Are You the Next Solo Show Legend? The Gallery Program at 3rd Ward
Our gallery program is an extension of our mission to redefine the creative experience from start to finish. Our international open calls take place year round and are designed to identify and illuminate the world’s top emerging talent.
Since 2007, The Solo Show has allowed 3rd Ward to celebrate artists for their creativity, ambition and innovation - not their status or the saleability of their work. Our open calls accept work from all mediums and we encourage an interdisciplinary approach. 3rd Ward is a place for big ideas both in size & ingenuity! Selected artists become Solo Show Legends, each awarded with a $5,000 cash grant, a 3-month residency, a Solo Exhibition and NYC press. We also provide airfare to and from 3rd Ward so anyone can win no matter their location. During the Solo Show Residencies, artists have access to a private live/work studio, all facilities at both our Brooklyn locations and our community of professional artists & designers. We also do not take a percentage of any work sold through our Solo Shows.

About 3rd Ward
3rd Ward is a member-based design center for creative professionals with two locations in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We are committed to providing resources, opportunities and a dynamic-creative network to our members and the community at large. Our space houses four gorgeous photo studios, a professional wood & metal shop, a fully loaded digital media lab, shared & private office space and a large interdisciplinary art education program. Throughout the year we also offer exciting events and opportunities for artists.
