    Moviehouse Presents Get Your Heart On!

    Moviehouse is celebrating its three-year anniversary on Valentine’s Day. So even though it’s our birthday, it’s you that gets the gifts.

    We challenged our favorite filmmakers, our intrepid staff and even a couple of diehard fans to make us 3-minute romantic movies following 3 simple rules. The result: brand new films by puppet-master Leat Klingman, dashing documentarian Daniel Ross, graceful dance film director Marta Renzi, creative playmaker Chloe Bass and the ceaselessly entertaining Carlotta Propersi.  They join Moviehouse staffers Austin Duggan and Chris Henderson for a celebration worthy of 3 years of the very best interactive video.

    Moviehouse Presents What is NYC, December 13

    It’s all about the maddening town we all can’t live without out at this month’s Moviehouse. The show is equal parts video, performance, and question session as we introduce Rob Carter’s latest stop-motion animation on the cityscape and then invite the multi-media performers at Zebra Crossing to share all they’ve learned during their quest to answer ‘What is Brooklyn?’.

    As always there will be a post screening Q&A with the artists and then VJ Clay Franklin’s back with his ever-expanding cache of clips, beats, and live footage!

    Moviehouse 3rd Anniversary Call for Submissions

    Time to start thinking about the movie you're going to make for Moviehouse's 3rd Anniversary Party on Sunday, February 14, 2010!

    How can you participate? It’s easy! Just get your friends together and make a three-minute romantic video (it is Valentine’s Day, after all) that follows these three simple guidelines.

    1. The movie should include one or more of the three wise monkeys (see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil)
    2. The movie should include celebrity death (which always come in 3s).
    3. The movie should include something uncontrollable.

    Anyone is eligible to make a movie. In fact, first time filmmakers are especially encouraged to make one. Your film will be screened alongside those by the Moviehouse staff and our favorite filmmakers in our 3rd Ward screening room.

    Finished films are due by February 7. You can send them to Moviehouse at 3rd Ward, 195 Morgan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11237 or by email to moviehousebk@gmail.com.
