This class will serve as an introduction to After Effects, a veritable Pandora's Box for enhancing artistic projects across any digital medium.
Students will experience the complete After Effects workflow, beginning by capturing their own still images and videos using the available iMac hardware, and concluding by rendering and exporting an original composition as a Quicktime movie.
All basic applications of the program will be touched upon, including manipulating various forms of media, working with layers, keyframe animation, creating crazy text, and of course the great Wiggly Selector. By the end of the workshop, each student will be fully equipped to dive further down the rabbit hole should they so choose.
No previous After effects or animation experience is necessary. This is a Mac based lab, but Mac or PC laptops with AE 7.0 or greater are welcome.
