Mission Statement
3rd Ward provides multi-disciplinary instruction for creative professionals as well as the wider NYC community. We offer Classes, Intensives and FREE workshops that range from design, to fabrication and photography, to professional development.
Our classes, intensives and workshops are intimate, short and affordable. With generally no more then 10 students per class and courses that last between 1 day and 9 weeks instructors are able to provide lots of individual attention over a short period of time. Made for New Yorkers, our curriculum is best for students who are time and cash strapped.
- Our classes provide hands on practice through multiple exercises and individual feedback from instructors.
- Our Intensives are packed with information and quickly and effectively provide you the background knowledge necessary to get started in your area of interest.
- Our workshops are short, fun and free of charge and you'll usually go home with something you never thought you could make.
All classes are FREE with any "I Heart Brooklyn" membership
Instructors
At 3rd Ward, we pride ourselves on having found the perfect instructor not only for the subject, but also for the students. 3rd Ward is dedicated to providing the art community with instructors who are knowledgeable, expertly trained, and - most importantly - currently and professionally active in their field. Our instructors are dedicated to their discipline, have strong bodies of work and follow best practice standards.

Policy
Classes are added on a monthly basis. Please check this website for up to date course information. Advanced Registration is necessary. Please call (718) 715 4961 to reserve a seat. Instructors, class times, and class dates are subject to change. If a change is made students will be contacted individually.
To register for a class, students must provide a valid credit card. In the event a student must withdraw from a class, he or she may do so any time before the registration deadline of the class (which is generally 5 business days before the class meets), and be charged a 25% of class cost (minus equipment cost) widthdrawal fee. Any withdrawals after the class registration deadline will result in the full cost of the class being charged to the student. If a student wishes to pay in cash, he or she must pay for the class in full before they are considered registered. Absenteeism does not constitute cancellation. Course fees are not refundable or transferable. There will be no exceptions.
All classes offered at 3rd Ward must have a minimum of (5) students registered in order for the class to commence. In the event a course does not receive sufficient enrollment, it may be cancelled. Students will be notified atleast 48 hours prior to the start of the class if it is cancelled and students will not be charged.
Equipment Fee explained
Classes which make use of tools or supplies will most likely require an equipment fee. This does not pay for the materials students will need to complete their course work, but rather it pays for in-class consumable items (think drill bits, dvds, paint, screens) and the upkeep of tools used for that specific class (saw sharpening, tool repair, welding tips, software updates).
