WordPress Workshop
If you want to have an awesome site, this WordPress workshop will help you get there. WordPress is the most popular publishing platform out there - in fact, over 20% of new domains registered are running their sites on WordPress. Seriously. Musicians, photographers, creatives, magazine, and small business owners are all running their sites on WordPress - and you can too.
In 4 weeks, we'll review how to setup WordPress on your own host, install plugins to extend its functionality. We'll review how to add video and photo galleries to display your work, setup playlists for your music, create an awesome contact page for your new customers, and add a bit of SEO magic [search engine optimization]. We'll also do some light theme customizations so you can modify how your site appears.
This class will take place in our Media Lab, equipped with fully-loaded iMac design workstations. Basic computer literacy is required for this course. Two notes: It is not required for you to have your own hosting account, but it is strongly suggested. HTML + CSS skills will also definitely help you out in this class, but those skills are not required for you to take this class.
