Photo Safari: Eagle Street Rooftop Farm 

Greenpoint’s Eagle Street Rooftop Farm covers 6,000 square feet, overlooking the East River with two-dozen different plants growing. The first rooftop farm to of its kind, it’s one of the most documented farms ever. Students will take on the challenge of getting original and interesting photos of the space. First, the head farmer Annie Novak will take us on a tour before student dive in and begin photographing the plants, workers and surroundings. At the end of class we will go through everyone best photos and discuss the various merits of each. This class will expand student’s understanding of a local setting, composition and natural lighting.

Students bring a camera and should be comfortable shooting with manual or partially manual settings. This class will meet at the Eagle Street Rooftop Farm in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The location is 44 Eagle Street between West street and Franklin street.
