Papermaking Intensive

All are welcome to discover the creative possibilities and ecological benefits of creating handmade recycled paper. Learn how to turn your paper scraps into fresh sheets through the hand-papermaking process.
This workshop will begin with the basics of paper reducing, forming and design. We will discuss and explore different methods to produce unique variations in color, texture and application. With these techniques, you will create sheets of natural and/or bright-colored recycled paper. You will then have the opportunity to spice up your design by integrating additional materials such as seasonings, string, foil and plant materials into your sheets.
Before leaving with your newly created sheets, we will discuss some possible applications, including how to make a book. You can easily continue papermaking at home with the tools from this workshop.
Feel free to bring printer waste, junk mail, paper bags or newspaper. Also bring anything you can imagine incorporating into your paper such as: dried flowers, leaves, seeds or string.
