Introduction to MIG Welding
In this workshop we will create an imaginative sculpture in steel. As a prerequisite for the first class I would encourage the students to bring a model constructed out of 10” sq. piece of white poster board. For the three session class we will fabricate the poster board model in steel. While making the sculpture, students will learn fundamentals of mig weld welding, fabricate methods, and use of shop equipment and tools. We will also cover finishing techniques for steel. Each student will be receive a 10' piece of metal the first day of the workshop to create their project.
Welding helmets and gloves will be provided. Students should arrive to the first class ready to weld. Bring a long sleeved cotton shirt and wear long dungarees with socks and closed toed shoes. This class comes with a 2 day
shop pass (a $200 value).
