Inflatable Sculpture

Create inflatable sculptures of monumental scale!  Your sculptures may range from 5 to 25 feet.  Learn clay modeling, pattern making, applied use of found objects, and sewing techniques.

The lack of space is a major concern in New York City. Inflatable works of art can be constructed in your living room or at the kitchen table. The are no limits to what you can create: objects may be as abstract as you like.  All students who participate in this class will have an opportunity to show their finished work at 3rd Ward's next inflatable sculpture show.

This class comes with a pass granting five full days of work studio access*.  The material fee covers basic consumables used during class time and upkeep of the various sewing machines and projectors you will have access to.  Participants will be given an allotment of clear plastic sheeting to develop a project, but those wishing to construct bigger sculptures or incorporate other materials will be responsible for procuring supplies.  *Access to the studio is contingent upon availability.  Other restrictions do apply.
