With an objective overview of the current state of the industry, Julie Halverson will be discussing the basics about of health insurance. Leave with the tools and knowledge to navigate the world of health insurance for yourself.

This discussion will cover the black and white: health insurance terms, concepts, and law, as well as the ever-daunting search for ways to finding affordable health care plans as freelancers and individuals.

Lecturer

Julie Halverson traveled the world for years as a professional photographer and received her bachelor’s degree from Parsons the New School of Design in 2006. After entering the professional field, she decided to back up her creative work with a bit of business experience. Before long, she found a focus in helping New Yorkers with their health insurance through consulting, lectures, and sales. Julie is licensed and has been working with health insurance for the last three years, and is now a manager at Atlantis Health Plan. Julie has brought her health experience and passion to artists and freelancers to help them navigate the murky world of health insurance. Julie is also a triathlete with a purpose: she's raised thousands of dollars to help fund cancer research.
