Digital Textile Design
Acquire a lucrative skill in this 6-hour intensive through learning the basics of textile design. Students will create original, digitally produced, production ready designs for printed fabrics marketable for women's, men's, and children's wear, home furnishings and paper products. Professional methods of designing patterns, repeats, and color combinations will be explored using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Students will also gain knowledge of how to market themselves in the various industries where these skills are applicable.
Instructor
Joanne Sherrow is a textile and graphic designer based in Brooklyn, NY. Her clients include Victoria's Secret, Calvin Klein, Anthropologie, Seamen Schepps, and Liz Claiborne. Joanne teaches Adobe Illustrator for fashion design and digital archiving for artists and collectors at the Fashion Institute of Technology and fashion digital studio classes in Parsons School of Design's undergraduate fashion department. Joanne has also been involved in recording and performing experimental electronic music with the bands Confetti System and Tic-tac-oh.
