Custom Frame Shop

In this course, participants will learn how to build professional custom picture frames from raw materials. Upon completion of the course students will acquire all the skills needed to design, construct and assemble their own frames. Each student will make a contemporary style frame and will learn how to use spacers which set the image back from the glass. Students will also learn the different styles and techniques of mounting the image.
On the first day of class please bring something small (no larger than 16x20 inches) that you would like to have framed, for example a drawing, a photograph, or a poster. By the end of the second session you will leave with a framed art work.
Participants will be taught how to safely use the router table, miter saw, finish nail gun and how to cut mat board and plexiglass. This class comes with a one day shop pass (a $100 value) so you can come back and build additional frames.
