Audio Tone Generator

Ever wondered where the sound comes from in musical toys, keyboards, electronic instruments etc? It starts with audio frequencies, and this class will teach you how to generate and manipulate them. Skip the circuit bending, build the instrument from scratch! You will have a lot more fun.

This class will use a 555 timing chip to generate a square wave frequency, making some cool (and some not so cool) sounds. Students will learn how to read a schematic, how to use basic circuitry parts, like potentiometers and IC chips. No previous experience is required. Anyone interested in circuit bending or basic electronics will have a great time in this class.

Check out the Tone Generator in action!
